Strategy/Project Description:

Over the past year, the Associate Provost and Provost’s Faculty Fellow have been expanding on the embedded dual enrollment pilot to include Chatham County schools. The Office of the Provost has established a partnership with the SCCPSS Superintendent's office as well the principles within the Chatham public school system to provide on-site courses where access to our Armstrong campus location would be difficult (due to lack of transportation) or awareness of DE as a viable option (lack of partnership/communication). We have identified 4 “hub” sites (where more than one school in the geographic area would provide transportation to students) with courses identified based on a student in-take survey as well as areas identified by principals and counselors for the individual high schools.

Activity Status:
Evaluation/Assessment plan:

Evaluation Plan and measures: Pre- & Post-engagement surveys; academic performance measured against other DE enrollment types; Community Partner satisfaction survey.

Baseline measure: Implementation

Goal or targets: 4 “hub” locations with 2 courses offered in highest need areas.

Time period/duration: ongoing

Progress and Adjustments:

Rather than hub sites alone, we provided a distributed solution model based on the area need. We have two hub locations serving multiple schools, and two single school embedded offerings. We have continued to work with the superintendent's office on scaling, and will see another single school come online for Fall 2024. The demand at the current locations have increased considerably as well.

Plan for the Year Ahead:

Assessment and review of course effectiveness, content area planning, and professional development/training for both GSU and SCCPSS faculty.
