Focused on Transition to College, the 2019 Advising Academy convenes campus leaders in advising, enrollment management, and orientation and transition to discuss progress, practices and challenges in supporting students as they transition to college.
The University System will convene the 2019 Advising Academy at the University of West Georgia’s Student Center on October 4, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. This year’s Advising Academy will focus on supporting successful student transition to college and the integration of purposeful choice, investigating the ways institutions serve a diverse group as they navigate the steps from application through the completion of their Momentum Year. This broader scope is intended to encourage a conversation about the numerous transition points students encounter and how to best manage them in order to support their success in the institution.
The Academy will be an opportunity for teams from your institution to reflect upon and plan for improvements to the way students transition on your campus. Each institution is asked to assemble a team of five members to include:
